Pumpkin steamed bun
Naturally sweet steamed buns where steamed pumpkin puree is kneaded directly into flour and yeast, no extra water, then shaped and proofed into golden, soft, slightly chewy buns.
Instructions
- 1
Peel the pumpkin, cut it into slices, and steam it in a pot.
- 2
This level is sufficient; no additional water is needed when mixing with the flour.
- 3
After the steamed pumpkin has cooled down enough to not be hot to the touch, add the flour and yeast and knead together until 'the dough is smooth, the bowl is smooth, and the hands are smooth,' then cover with plastic wrap to ferment. In cold weather, it will take longer. Fermentation is complete when it has doubled in size.
- 4
Then knead it into the shape you want. I usually don't make each one the same size. Just follow your heart.
- 5
Steam for 20 minutes.
- 6
Still pretty OK.
