Purple Sweet Potato Flower Bun Exclusive
Charming flower-shaped mantou made in a bread machine, where steamed purple sweet potato tints the dough lavender for naturally sweet, pillowy, picture-pretty steamed buns.
Instructions
- 1

Peel the purple sweet potato and cut it into thin slices.
- 2

Put it in the pot and steam until cooked.
- 3

Prepare the flour and put it into the bread machine bucket, adding a little sugar.
- 4

Yeast powder.
- 5

Add the cooled purple sweet potatoes as well.
- 6

Start kneading the dough and by default it will be completed in 20 minutes.
- 7

Kneading the dough.
- 8

Knead the dough until it is smooth and slightly soft. It can ferment in the bread pan without being taken out (because during the kneading process, the bread pan will generate heat, which is just the right temperature for fermentation).
- 9

In about a few minutes, it has doubled in size. This is the properly risen dough.
- 10

Take it out and knead it more to release the air.
- 11

Kneaded dough, let it rest for another 10 minutes.
- 12

The total weight of the dough is 700 grams, divided into 10 equal parts.
- 13

Then take a small piece of dough and roll it into a long strip, then roll it into an elongated shape. As shown in the picture, make several cuts in the middle with a knife, and finally fold it in the middle.
- 14

Roll it up, just like a flower, and the flower-shaped bun is ready.
- 15

Place them in the steamer one by one after shaping and let them rise for another 15 minutes, then steam them with cold water for 20 minutes (I also made a few round buns).
- 16

The steamed buns are very beautiful, with a light purple color, and very soft.
