Qi-boosting Black-bone Chicken Soup
A traditional qi-boosting silkie chicken soup where blanched black-bone chicken simmers an hour with red dates, goji berries, angelica root, and ginger in a clay pot for a pure, herbal broth.
Instructions
- 1

Cut the black-bone chicken into large pieces and scald it with hot water to remove the blood, which makes the soup taste better when cooked.
- 2

Wash the red dates, goji berries, angelica, and fresh ginger and set aside for later use.
- 3

Put the black-bone chicken, red dates, goji berries, and angelica into a clay pot (clay pots consume more water, so add water about 10 cm above the chicken). Bring to a boil over high heat, then turn to medium-low heat and simmer for one hour.
- 4

Add salt to season, and it’s ready to serve! This is authentic Guangdong nourishing syrup, with no added seasonings; drinking the soup in its original flavor allows the medicinal properties to work at their best.
