QQ string
Skewered QQ treats of scalded tapioca dough cut into shapes, boiled until floating, then plunged straight into ice water to lock in an addictive, bouncy-chewy texture.
Instructions
- 1
Add boiling water to the cassava starch and stir (this step is very hot, but it's also key to the chewy texture). You can stir first with chopsticks or a rolling pin, but once it can be kneaded into a dough, spread the dough out—not too thin—and use a lid to press out the shape!
- 2
When the water boils, put it in and cook until it floats up!
- 3
Prepare ice water (drinkable water, ice cold). As soon as it is boiled, remember to immediately take it out and put it into the ice water. This is the key to making it chewy when cooked!
- 4
Take out the skewers, thread the QQ balls that have been soaked in water, and then they are ready to eat.
- 5
You can also dip it in some crushed peanuts for better taste (How to make crushed peanuts: peanuts, white sugar, white sesame, black sesame) ground into powder, it can be eaten dry or used for dipping!
