Rice cake
A savory molded rice creation layered with creamy salted egg yolk sauce and chopped wakame, the grains fried glossy and pressed for a distinctive umami-rich bite.
Instructions
- 1

Add 1.2 cups of water to the rice and steam it in a steamer.
- 2

Cooked rice is set aside. I steamed two bowls, but only used one bowl.
- 3

Crush the salted egg yolk with a food processor, stir-fry it with cooking oil, and season with a little sugar.
- 4

Cook over low heat until it becomes mayonnaise.
- 5

Take one-third of a bowl of rice and put it into the pot.
- 6

Stir evenly with mayonnaise and set aside.
- 7

The wakame used for sushi is chopped and also put together with 1/3 bowl of rice.
- 8

Mix well and set aside.
- 9

Place the egg yolk rice at the bottom of the mold, occupying 1/3 of the space.
- 10

Place wakame rice in the middle third, and cover the top with white rice.
- 11

Cut the carrots into small flower shapes and boil them in water until cooked.
- 12

Turn the rice in the mold onto a plate, decorate the top with a border of cucumber flowers, place caviar in the center, and decorate the bottom with a border of small carrot flowers.
