Sausage and Salted Pork Rice Cake Soup
A warming soup of chewy sliced rice cakes simmered with salted pork and Chinese sausage, whose cured richness perfumes the broth alongside sweet greens and carrot chunks.
Instructions
- 1

Prepare the rice cakes. I am using long-shaped rice cakes, but other rice cakes are also fine.
- 2

Wash the ingredients thoroughly, cut the green vegetables into sections, and cut the carrots into chunks; slice the cured meat and sausage, soak the cured meat in water for a while to remove some of the saltiness, and set aside.
- 3

Heat the pan, pour in oil, add the vegetables, and stir-fry.
- 4

After stir-frying until soft, add an appropriate amount of water and bring to a boil over high heat.
- 5

Put in the rice cake slices.
- 6

Then add the sausage, bacon, and carrots, and bring to a boil over high heat.
- 7

Wait for the rice cakes to cook until soft and float, then add an appropriate amount of salt for seasoning.
- 8

Finally, add some chicken essence to enhance the flavor; you can skip it if you don't like it.
- 9

Scoop it into a bowl, and it's ready to eat. It is savory, soft and sticky, tender and delicious, very tasty.
