Sesame and Peanut Glutinous Rice Balls
Classic tangyuan with a frozen filling of black sesame, peanut, and butter wrapped in hot-water glutinous dough, boiled until translucent with molten, nutty centers.
Instructions
- 1

110g of peanut or sesame powder, 40g of peanut powder, 70g of butter or lard (melt the butter in a water bath in advance), 35g of water, 30g of white sugar, mix evenly, and freeze.
- 2

After freezing and setting, divide into 8-9g balls.
- 3

Continue freezing.
- 4

250g glutinous rice flour, 180g boiling water, slowly pour in and mix evenly with chopsticks, knead with gloves until there is no dry flour, cover with plastic wrap and let rest for 20 minutes.
- 5

Roll into balls of 12-13g each.
- 6

Cover it with plastic wrap to stop it from drying out.
- 7

Slowly wrap the frozen filling into the dough using the space between your thumb and index finger.
- 8

Wrap a little glutinous rice flour to prevent sticking.
- 9

Wrapped up, boil the water.
- 10

Boil the tangyuan in water.
- 11

It’s done when it all floats up.
- 12

Made with real ingredients by myself.
- 13

It can also control sugar and is very delicious. What you can't finish can be frozen.
