Shanghai-style vegetable rice
Shanghai-style one-pot rice cooked with salted lettuce-stem greens, sweet chestnuts, and vegetarian sausage so the grains absorb a savory, aromatic, gently sweet flavor.
Instructions
- 1

Prepare the ingredients: Slice the vegetarian sausage, cut the lettuce leaves into small sections and pre-salt them to draw out water, wash the rice, and remove the shells from the chestnuts.
- 2

Pour 10 milliliters of grapeseed oil into the pot.
- 3

Pour in the marinated and washed lettuce leaves.
- 4

Sauté the lettuce leaves until fragrant.
- 5

Pour in the shelled chestnuts.
- 6

- 7

- 8

Pour in the washed rice.
- 9

Stir-fry all the ingredients evenly.
- 10

Pour in 300 milliliters of water.
- 11

Cover all the ingredients with water and spread them evenly.
- 12

Cover with a lid and bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce to low heat and cook for 15 minutes.
- 13

Open the lid; once the moisture has evaporated and a roasted aroma is present, you can turn off the heat.
- 14

Pour in 1 spoon of Scallion Companion June Spicy Chili Sauce.
- 15

Stir-fry evenly and then serve.
- 16

A spoonful of chili sauce gives soul to Shanghai salty and sour rice, making the flavor different.
