Simple Mushroom Soup Without Cream
A lighter mushroom soup for babies, thickened with flour and milk instead of cream, blending sweet button mushrooms and onion into a smooth, mellow puree.
Instructions
- 1

Ingredients: 4 button mushrooms, 1/4 onion, 20g flour, 300ml milk (formula milk), 20g olive oil. Cooking method: Boil. Suggested age: 10 months. Time required: 20 minutes.
- 2

Chop the button mushrooms. They are an essential ingredient in mushroom soup. Tips: For children under 1 year old, use formula milk if making mushroom soup; pure cow's milk should only be consumed directly or used in cooking after 1 year old.
- 3

Chop the onion. Heat the pan with oil, add a little oil, stir-fry the onion until soft and fragrant, then take it out.
- 4

Add a little more oil, and stir-fry the flour over medium heat until it turns slightly yellow. Tips: The flour replaces the cream. Compared to cream, flour is easier to source and tastes light without any heaviness.
- 5

After the flour is fried until golden, pour in the milk and cook together, adding the mushrooms and onions as well.
- 6

Stir while cooking to prevent sticking, and cook for 4 minutes before serving. The thickness can be adjusted freely.

It tastes very creamy. Sometimes I get creative and add some diced/chopped chicken, mashed potatoes, mashed sweet potatoes, or diced winter melon, loofah, water bamboo shoots, carrots, minced shrimp, etc. You can mix anything in. When making complementary foods for your baby, there's no need to make authentic XXX dishes. As long as the child likes it and the cooking method is healthy, you can let your imagination run wild~~~~

For adults, after it’s just cooked, add a little salt to season it, then add some freshly ground black pepper, and the family will enjoy drinking it.
