Snowflake steamed bun
Soft steamed buns made with sweetened pumpkin and a swirl of peanut butter, shaped into a snowflake bloom that splits open like a flower when steamed.
Instructions
- 1
The materials are ready.
- 2
Steam the pumpkin until cooked, drain the water, add sugar, and stir evenly.
- 3
Let it cool, then add yeast powder and stir evenly. Let it rest for five minutes.
- 4
After the yeast powder has finished proofing, prepare the peanut butter.
- 5
Add the flour.
- 6
Knead into a ball and cover with plastic wrap, letting it rest for 20 minutes ('If the weather is cold, let it rest a bit longer') (no need to rest too long, because shaping takes some time and we want to avoid over-fermentation).
- 7
After fermentation is complete, take it out and knead to release the air.
- 8
Cut into 4 small pieces.
- 9
Knead into a ball.
- 10
Take a small portion of dough and roll it into a circle (do the same for 4 pieces).
- 11
Spread peanut butter on it.
- 12
Then put another piece of dough on top.
- 13
Press a pattern in the middle with a mold (you can use the bottom of a small cup to press).
- 14
(As shown in the picture) Cut the four sides once.
- 15
(As shown in the picture) Cut once more on all four sides.
- 16
(As shown in the picture) cut once more.
- 17
A total of 16 cuts (as shown in the picture).
- 18
Pick up a pair of dough pieces and rotate them 360 degrees outward.
- 19
Turn around twice and pinch the tail together.
- 20
Repeat the above steps for the remaining dough.
- 21
In the end, there should be a total of 8 pieces of dough pinched together.
- 22
Place in a pot with cold water, steam on high heat for 12 minutes, then turn off the heat and let it sit for 3 minutes before serving.
- 23
Is it beautiful? 🥰 Fluffy and soft 🤩 Golden and full of winter vibes.
