Soybean Powder Glutinous Rice Cold Cake (New Year Cake Rice Cake)
Steamed glutinous rice dough enriched with milk and butter, wrapped around red bean paste, rolled in toasted soybean flour and chilled for a soft, chewy, subtly sweet cold mochi cake.
Instructions
- 1
Prepare the materials, weigh them all, and then put them into a container for later use.
- 2
Glutinous rice flour, corn starch, fine granulated sugar, milk, and corn oil are poured into a bowl in order, and stirred evenly with a whisk until there is no dry powder or lumps and it reaches a smooth consistency.
- 3
Sift into a bowl, cover the surface with plastic wrap, poke a few small holes with a toothpick, and steam for 15 minutes.
- 4
After steaming, use a spatula to stir it a bit. When it is no longer hot to the touch, take out the glutinous rice dough, stretch and knead it a few times, form it into a ball, put it into a plastic bag, seal it, and refrigerate it for half an hour.
- 5
Sprinkle an appropriate amount of soybean flour on the cutting board, take the glutinous rice dough out of the refrigerator, and use cooked soybean flour as hand flour.
- 6
Roll the dough into a long strip and then cut it into small pieces.
- 7
Finally, wrap the whole thing in roasted soybean powder and sprinkle with roasted black sesame seeds, and it's ready to eat. Taken out of the fridge, it's cool, sticky, and super delicious.
