Steamed Egg with Sea Cucumber
Silky steamed egg custard, strained and covered to stay smooth, crowned with tender sea cucumber slices for an elegant, soft-textured, umami-rich savory dish.
Instructions
- 1

Two eggs.
- 2

Soak a sea cucumber in cold water and set aside.
- 3

Add a little salt and 100 grams of warm water to the eggs, and beat them until mixed.
- 4

Sea cucumber slices.
- 5

Filter the egg liquid through a mesh.
- 6

Cover with a plate to prevent water droplets from falling in. Place the steamer on the stove, and after the water boils, put it in, steam on high heat for 5 minutes, then reduce to low heat and check that the egg mixture is not fully set.
- 7

Sprinkle the sliced sea cucumber, cover with a plate and the pot lid, change to high heat, and steam for another 20 minutes.
- 8

Take out the steamed sea cucumber and steamed egg.
- 9

Drizzle with light soy sauce and sesame oil for seasoning.
