Sunflower Steamed Bun
A whimsical sunflower-shaped steamed bun with a plain dough base and a cocoa-tinted center, pressed out with molds and petal cutters, proofed and steamed for a soft, fluffy crumb.
Instructions
- 1
Mix all the ingredients except for the cocoa powder to form a smooth, proper dough, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rest for 5 minutes.
- 2
Roll it into a large sheet and use a mold to press out the flowers.
- 3
Do them one by one and place them on the steaming and baking tray of the Meiyu steam oven.
- 4
Add the remaining scraps with an appropriate amount of cocoa powder, knead into a brown dough, roll into thin sheets, and use a piping tip to press out small round pieces.
- 5
Apply a bit of water and stick it in the middle of the flower, then gently cut vertical and horizontal patterns with a knife. The raw piece is done.
- 6
Place in the Midea steam oven to ferment until it doubles in size.
- 7
Choose the pure steam mode on the steam oven, 100 degrees for 17 minutes is sufficient.
