Towel Cake Roll
A homemade recipe for Towel Cake Roll, combining low-gluten flour, cornstarch and egg; baked until light, fluffy and golden. Simple ingredients, satisfying homemade flavor.
Instructions
- 1

Divide half of the sugar to whip the egg whites until they form soft peaks. There is no need to add the sugar in three separate batches, because it's only 4 eggs; using dozens of eggs commercially is when it's necessary to add sugar in batches.
- 2

After mixing the egg yolks and the remaining sugar evenly, add the soybean oil and emulsify, then add the milk and sifted low-gluten cornstarch and mix.
- 3

Stir with a wire whip to mix, then fold with a spatula. If you keep folding with a spatula, beginners may go slowly, which can easily cause deflation. Preheat the High-Pik C60 to 180 degrees before starting.
- 4

Spraying a mist of water on the mold helps the parchment stick better.
- 5

Give it a few more shakes before putting it in the oven. A qualified batter does not produce bubbles and is smooth.
- 6

Bake in the Kobik C60 oven at 150 degrees for 25 minutes. Then open the oven door and turn the turntable, and continue baking for 3 minutes. Total time is 28 minutes. Be aware that the turntable needs to move quickly, otherwise the oven will cool down rapidly.
- 7

The batter gradually rises and browns.
- 8

Fresh out of the oven! The color of the turntable will be especially even after this. Remember to wear gloves to avoid burning yourself.
- 9

The finished product is as shown in the picture. The towel surface is very delicate, and as for how you want to arrange it or eat it, it's up to you.
