Winter Melon and Cilantro Quick-Boiled Meatballs
Springy pork meatballs seasoned with oyster sauce and egg, poached gently until they float, then finished with tender winter melon slices and bright cilantro in a light broth.
Instructions
- 1

Cut the winter melon into thick slices, and cut the cilantro and green onions into sections.
- 2

Add chopped green onions and chopped ginger to the minced pork, along with oyster sauce, soy sauce, sugar, chicken essence, egg, and cooked oil, and mix until well combined.
- 3

Place the pot on the stove to boil water, using slightly more water than needed. When the water starts to bubble and make noise at the edges, reduce the heat.
- 4

Form the minced meat into small balls and put them into the water. Do not stir them until the balls float.
- 5

After the meatballs float to the surface, use a spoon to skim off the foam.
- 6

Add a spoonful of salt.
- 7

Sprinkle white pepper powder.
- 8

Add the winter melon slices and cook for 5 minutes.
- 9

Add the green onions and cilantro.
- 10

Cook the cilantro until soft, then add a small amount of sesame oil.
- 11

Finished product.
